Hello dear friends. What a crazy week! I thought I would not be able to write again this week. Well, but here we are and the video of this week is "Cheira a Lisboa" live. And last March 12th was the birthday of the fadista and friend Maria Alcina. We wish her happiness, many kisses and our affection, we could not write on, but Adélia called and spoke with her. Friends are never forgotten. Kisses! And next Monday, March 16th is the birthday of our dear friend and also fadista Maria de Lourdes, which was here with us in the Carnival. Congratulations Lú! Dear friends. Forgive my delay, but this week was crazy and I almost couldn´t have time to write to you. Forgive me also If I forget something important, there are so many subjects that I´m afraid I miss some. Well, the carnival was great. We had a nice weekend with our dear Terezinha Alves, Jose Luiz, Maria de Lourdes and Augusto, who had come especially to the D.Maria´s birthday. We love you!
Also we want to thank all the broadcasters who had sent messages for D.Maria. It was lovely! Kisses to you all.
A special kiss also to our friend Daniel Vega, of the program La Voz Del Club Portugués, from Buenos Aires, for the pretty words and homage they made to Adélia last Sunday. The show is on Sundays from 10 to 11am at http://www.am890.com.ar/. This week we also have a video of one of the shows in the Club. A homage that Adélia made to the beloved public and to Algarve. Unforgetable. Kisses to all the people that had been there and also to the ones who called during the radio show.
And a big kiss to Luiz Abilio, from the blog Folclore de Portugal, that gentily is helping us with information for the blog Mundo Fado. And another kiss and our gratefulness to Luis Maia from the blog Fado das Bocas Lindas, that this week hás a tribute to our beloved Joaquim Pimentel. It was great! And after a long time and missing a lot those people, Adélia is coming back to Santos. On the next April 11th, will be commemorated in the Casa da Madeira, the first anniversary of the program Saudade da Minha Terra, Portugal. Show of Adélia and the Trio Manuel Marques. Soon we will be passing information on invitations. You can not lose!

Time for fun, but with responsibility, always.
This week, we have the video "Caso Encerrado" with Adélia and, to celebrate the carnival, the video "Portuguesa no Samba", with Terezinha Alves. I love it! It is from the beginning of her career.

We have important birthdays this week. On the 23rd we have Maria José Taveira´s birthday. Maria José is a great friend a wife of our missing Manoel Taveira. Also on 23, our friend of Internet, Roberto Peresio, from Italy. On the 26th, a very special day, we have the birthday of our dear Maria José, Adélia´s mother and my dear grandma, and our friend and my godfather Alex Cruz de Malta. To all of you our best wishes for much health, love, peace and prosperity. Much happiness and achievements in your lives. You are very special people and deserve the best. Maria will be 92 years old! Isn´t it wonderful? Next week, I will make a special video with her, a surprise for her and for you. Wait.

Hello friends! This week we have "Fadinho Serrano". Live in Buenos Aires. The presenter is Mrs.Maria Albertina Viegas Costa (pic.), a very important figure to the Portuguese colony of Buenos Aires, and a very special person who Adélia misses a lot and send a big and loving hug. The images selected for the video show a little more of the beauty of Portugal. Curious, I STILL do not know Portugal, but what I have seen in the pictures, I am questioning myself what led the discoverers of the past want to find other lands, if they had so many wonders in their own country. Portugal is really beautiful!

Paulo Machado´s Birthday / Lisbon on the Guinness

Hello dear friends. This weekend, once again, a tribute to the most beautiful city in the world and also the most singing one, Lisbon. Verses of the master Joaquim Pimentel, in the voice of our eternal princess Adélia - "Lisboa e o Tempo". And talking about Lisbon, a big hug to our friend Vítor Duarte Marceneiro, which is making a valuable work to put the city of Lisbon in the Guinness Book as the most singing city of the world. We wish you success in your project, something important and with a high historical and cultural value.
And next Sunday, February 8th, will be the birthday of the Coordinator of Tourism of Portugal in Brazil, the dear friend Paulo Machado. Best wishes, not only today but always. Kisses from Adélia. kisses also to Dinha and Catarina.

Hello friends. This week we have a declaration of love to Lisbon, made by a Brazilian. Yes, a distinguished Brazilian, Silvino Neto. Actor, singer, composer, radio and father of actor Paul Silvino. A curiosity that you must listen, I hope you like it. Well, again, like last year, we will make a brief summary of our achievements of 2008. More than 17,000 visits in 2008!

Today, only on You Tube, 87 videos, with more than 144,200 exhibits. The "champion" of the videos is still the song "É Natal", and the most commented (and thank God, always well commented) is "Rosa Enjeitada." Adélia was honored in Brazil, Portugal and Switzerland. Her story is told and her voice is heard on blogs, websites and radio stations in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, France, Switzerland, among other countries. Messages arrive from all the world, as well as requests for records and concerts. And the most important, friends, many friends. We are making new friends and rediscovering old friendships . Internet is a wonderful thing when used well, of course.

As I said last year, those numbers for a blog that is done at home, without sponsorship and teams of disclosure, and that speaks of an artist immigrant, are not just numbers, are demonstrations of the immense artistic potential of Adélia, her charisma and the love from her public around the world.

We hope in 2009 we can organize the calendar of shows and record the new CD. And for that, we count on you, friends, fans, record labels and entrepreneurs.

The repertoire is mostly assembled, but we left 1 or 2 bands that will be chosen by the public. When you open the blog, also opens up another window, where you will find a form. Tell us what you would like to hear in the voice of our dear Adélia. We are on the way to produce the CD, and we are accepting applications from record labels and companies interested in sponsoring, disseminating and marketing the art of our dear and wonderful fadista. If we have no record label, or other form of support, yet, in an independent way, the CD comes out this year. With label, no label, with or without sponsorship, our beloved public will have what is expected, Adélia Pedrosa, her voice and touching interpretation with folklore songs and beautiful fados unpublished yet, with the quality that has always permeated her work.
Thanks to everyone for the support, the affection, the messages. You are the reason for the existence of this work, done with much, much love. Thanks to all broadcasters in Rio de Janeiro, Santos, finally, Brazil, Portugal, Switzerland and many other places, all who have supported us and that, with so much affection released Adélia Pedrosa songs. Many people asked us about the cover of the single "O Meu Menino Jesus". Well, the picture was produced and made by myself. The shawl was Adélia who did it and the beautiful sculpture of Our Lady with the infant Jesus, is art of Francisco Tavares, brother of our dear friend Antonio Tavares. A beautiful work that we are very happy to share with you. I am happy that you liked it because, as everything we do, there is too much love on the cover.
And, speaking of Antonio Tavares, next 06 January, the day of Kings, is also his birthday. Congratulations dear friend. We miss you. We wish you much peace, bright, great strength, health, love and that God always be with you. You're always in our thoughts and prayers. Also on the 6th, the birthday of our dear Silvia Reis, friend-sister of Adélia, godmother of my heart, and after a holiday in the United States with her family, is back to the wonderful city, and will soon be here with us. Congratulations! Health, love, peace and prosperity. We love you so much.

Hello dear friends. I'm too late this week, sorry. This season is very busy. I hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family and loved people. Our Christmas was with much peace and love. I, Adélia, my grandma, my husband Ciro, my godmother Terezinha Alves and her husband Jose Luis spent the night together. It was very good, we laugh a lot. And as our Christmas is well Portuguese, we ate too much cod, King Cake presented by our dear friend Augusto and our friend and fadista Maria de Lourdes, direct from Confeitaria Santa Marcelina, São Paulo, Portuguese chestnuts , french toasts and heard too much Fado. And now you can envy me, because here we had the Fado live with two great fadistas. Really very special!
Well, a new year beggins. We hope to be a year of peace and love. It seems that common to talk, but what we need to live well, in addition to health, it is just that - peace and love. Let's look at the past year as a learning, and breathe the air of a new year with the experience and with the hope of a new way that opens before us.

And this is exactly the thinking that we want to transmit you this year. Let's find the real spirit of Christmas in our hearts. The spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, the spirit of love. Yeah we are talking of love. The love that He tried to teach us, and that we often forget to practice.
Since I was a child, with my godfather, Joaquim Pimentel, my godmother, Terezinha Alves and my loved mom and grandma, my Christmas has always been very special. We used to join in our house all those friends who were away from their families, which is very common among immigrants, and those who had no family. Those times were very beautiful and unforgettable. Other times I had the privilege to spend Christmas with beautiful old ladies in an asylum, with children at the Cancer Hospital in Sao Paulo, in orphanages, finally, with beautiful people and it taught me a lot. I can tell you that this is us that receive the best. I am not telling you this to show me, but to suggest you to do the same. It would be better doing so not only at Christmas, but it is a start. Try it, share the immense love you have in your hearts, first among the relatives course, because Christmas is a time of family, but also with those who are alone, poor, sick, hungry, even not known. You will know from that moment the true spirit of Christmas, and love that He wanted to show us. Adélia and I wish you all a Christmas of bright, with a lot of love. Hi my friends. Sorry for my delay. This weekend we expected to post a message of gratitude from Adélia for all the phone calls and messages that you sent in her birthday, but she had a small accident at home and unfortunately we did not have time to prepare anything. This week we have a very special moment recorded in the video of the week. The video is of fado "Voltaste", by Joaquim Pimentel. An unforgettable night of fados, which was attended, among others, Pimentel, which can be heard singing, and our beloved Terezinha Alves, at her time of fan (she is heard in the background).
The other video is of our dear, sweet friend, the fadista Pedro Vilar. A success of himself, "De Corpo e Alma." Pedro's birthday was on the last 22, november. Congratulations my dear. Adélia just recorded "O Meu Menino Jesus" ("My baby Jesus"), witten by her friend and brother, the great poet Antonio Campos, in the music of Álvaro Duarte Simões. And to complete this affection, the preciousness of the art of Manuel Marques, another great friend and master of music, who wrote all the scores, developed the arrangements carefully and also recorded with Adélia on the portuguese guitars. And more, the sweet and soft sound of the guitar by Sergio Borges, one more valuable contribution in this work. And one more week ! We are almost at the end of the year, and what an year! First of all I would like to thank you once again and apologize for not responding quickly as we would like to the messages you are sending to us. This week, in Canada, was the launch of the new book "Horizons of Poetry", of the poet Euclides Cavaco, and who was there with him was our dear friend and master of the Portuguese guitar Maria Luisa Melo. Hello friends! This week we have too many things to talk about. Well, first of all, we want to emphasize that Sunday the Sept.28, would be the everlasting romantic Tony de Matos´birthday. As you know, Adélia began her career in the restaurant Fado, in Rio de Janeiro, owned by Tony de Matos and Maria Sidônio. Good times, many memories and longing. A spectacular man, a charismatic figure and a brilliant artist. So this week is in his honor. We have two special videos with him. The first, one of his major successes, "Lado a Lado" and the other, "Coitado do Zé Maria", both of the LP "Lado a Lado", recorded in Rio de Janeiro, that has Adélia Pedrosa on the cover with Tony. Another curiosity is that in the song "Coitado do Zé Maria", are part of the chorus Joaquim Pimentel and Adélia. You can also hear a small tribute made by our friend Ruy Castelar, a few weeks ago, totally improvised, to Adélia and Tony, and that was a nice surprise for us. Dear friends. Today is our blog´s anniversary. Many reasons to celebrate, thanks to the care and support of all of you.
It was not easy. Finding material, find out how to have the tools, disseminate, take acceptance and credibility. Two computers missed, photos, music, videos that do not work, difficulties in connection. Finally, many things trying to make us give up, but they only served to make us want more. When I started this blog, and we talked about it here, my idea was just doing a tribute, but everything was taking a proportion that I did not expect, frankly, and today I can say to you that we are where we never imagined that. Our dear Adélia, who was already a famous fadista here in Brazil and also in Portugal, today is heard and admired around the world. Our blog has already received visits from over 60 countries, visits that in 70% of the time, returning more than once. The total number of visits, in 4 pages, sum today more than 20,300 this year. In the You Tube, the videos of Adélia already added almost 100,000 views, not counting the other video sites such as Google, Metacafe, Sapo, etc.. We are also in many other blogs and sites, from fado and a other subjects. Many honors and achievements. She deserves! Many important meetings. And we have other reasons to celebrate. The other blog we created, Mundo Fado, is giving us too much joy. We are also happy because we encourage others to enter this world of the Internet, and we have every day more Fado and Fado singers with blogs and videos on You Tube. That's right friends, the storm begins with a breeze. The world is immense and the Internet gives us endless trips. It is here our deepest gratitude to each of you that visited us, sent us messages, helped us in this tribute. Because of you and, of course, the talent and the voice of our Adélia, our blog will grow increasingly, and our projects one by one will become reality. Many surprises being prepared for you, wait. Hi friends! Since we created the blog, I notice that every week something very good happens. And this week was no different. Two beautiful encounters provided by this wonder called Internet. Adélia had the pleasure of speaking with her dear friend and journalist Graciano Coutinho, who lives today in the United States. Friendship of the old days, with so good memories. She also talked with her friend Jorge Fernando, spectacular musician, composer and fadista with whom Adélia already had the honour to sing. She misses both a lot. What immense pleasure that she had to talk with you, a really joy. Many wonderful things came to her mind and remembering is always so nice. Hello guys! The week passed very fast, but it was special. This week two real stars of Portuguese music in Brazil have been together - Adélia Pedrosa and Maria de Lourdes. We had the great joy to receive in our house the visit of our dear friend and great fadista Maria de Lourdes and her husband, our dear friend Augusto. It was a quick visit, unfortunately, but very, very pleasant and funy. We had a lot of memories to remember. People very special for us and it was great. A big kiss to both and come back soon. Moreover, those who want to see them singing together, we have a video here in our blog, and why not, you can ask them to your event, guarantee of much emotion and Fado of great quality! Hi! A very special weekend. Next June 15th July we celebrate the birthday of our beloved Joaquim Pimentel, and also it is the date that he died. So, we made two videos. One is "Deixa-me Só", singing by Joaquim Pimentel, one fado that he loved and that Adélia has also recorded. The other video is with Adélia singing "Eu Sou Alguém", also writen by Joaquim Pimentel. To our beloved master, poet, actor, friend and singer, and also my godfather, our endless love and respect. Santo Antonio from Lisboa

Santo Antonio was born in Lisbon in 1195 and died in Pádua in 1231. There is a legend that, inexplicably, in Lisbon, the bells started to ring in the exact moment that he was canonized.

Hi dear friends. This week we have a very special day. June 10th is the day of Portugal and Camões. Our respect and admiration for this brave and noble people. And to celebrate we have many news. The first one is a homage that will be made to Adélia on Switzerland by the radio show "Fado, o Jardim das Palavras" The show is commanded by the fadista Mariana Correia and it will happen next Monday, June 9th, begining at 4:00pm Brazilian time and 9:00pm Switzerland time. The second one is that we have a new blog! Exactly. An old dream of Adélia was, in some way, to congregate the fadistas that live in the foreigner as she. Joined by the homesickness and the Fado, but spread around the world. Adélia always revealed the desire to see an interchange between these artists. However her voice, always so strong, did not find the echo necessary to make this happen. So we hade the idea to create a space to join all those singers, to show who they are to the world and mainly to their native land and their people, Portugal. We do not have the pretension of being a great site, but it is being made with the same affection and devotion that was made the blog of Adélia. Hi dear friends. And here I am again trying to upload another video for you. I am trying hard but the connexion is too bad tonight. But I´ll get it untill Sunday, you´ll see. Anyway, this week we have two videos. The first one is "Confesso", from a presentation at Hotel Hilton, in Belém do Pará. The video was too dark, so I had to make it with pictures. The other one was a surprise made to us from a fado singer called Américo, that lives in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. It´s Adélia singing "Meu Primeiro Pecado", recorded in the beginning of her career in Portugal. So beautiful. We needed to share it with you. Dear Américo, thanks a lot. Weekend with a lot of celebrations. First, the mother´s day, that is on next Sunday here in Brazil. Congratulations moms! And, as a daughter that adores her mother, I made my homage to her, and here it is. She cried a lot! But I had to do it in order to demonstrate all the love and gratitude that I have for this strong and sweet woman. I am a privileged woman and have she as my mother is a present from God. Also, I register here our love to other wonderful mom, my gradma and Adélia´s mother, D.Maria, who has been always with her. Another present in my life.

Our homage to all the mothers is a video with the fado "Lavava no Rio Lavava", recorded during an unforgetable night at the Portuguese Club of Buenos Aires. The sound is not good and clean, but listen, it´s so beautiful. See it at "Vídeo of the Week".

Because of her help we can talk a little more about Mariana Silva e also hear the fado "Errei", by Alberto Rodrigues and Acácio Gomes , that Adélia loves and the fado “Assim Nasceu o Fado”, by José Antonio Sabrosa, on the Fado das Horas, also very beautiful and one that Ofélia likes a lot. Mariana Silva was born in Lisbon, at Santa Engrácia and started to sing also too young, when she was 10. Presented for many years in almost all of the houses of fado in Portugal - Marialvas, Solar do Marceneiro,Patrício, Adega Mesquita, Adega Machado, Lisboa à Noite, Forcado, Viela, Márcia Condessa, and Tipóia and Malhoa where she worked with Adélia. She also has been in France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands. She was nominated as Queen of Fado Menor, in 1952. When she stopped to sing, in 1999, she was presented at Parreirinha de Alfama, a restaurante from Argentina Santos. She has many successes, like A Minha Sina, by Henrique Rego and Alfredo Marceneiro; Erva da Rua, by J.Linhares Barbosa and Armandinho; A Sina das Marianas, by J.Linhares Barbosa and J. Yesterday I talked about our new friend who helped us to make a small homage to Flora Pereira. So, this new friend gave to us another present, a message from Mariana Silva, the "Queen of Fado Menor", great fadista and friend who Adélia has worked with for two times. Adélia is very happy to receive news from Mariana, and misses her a lot. Adélia remembers a beautiful fado in her voice, called "Errei", that I´ll try to find to post here for you. A kiss from me and from Adélia to Mariana, and here we post a little souvenir to her, some pictures of special moments that they live together at the restaurants Tipoia and Malhoa. Fado in mourning

Unfortnately we do not have just good news. I am writing today to register our sadness because the great fadista Flora Pereira has passed away yesterday, at Lisboa. Flora Pereira started her career about 50 years ago at Emissora Nacional and was noted by the critical in the radio show "Comboio das seis e meia". She had many successes like the fado "Antes Só" written by Alberto Ribeiro. She has also presented at many Fado places like Nónó, at Bairro Alto, Nau Catrineta, Parreirinha de Alfama, and recently the Dragão de Alfama.
From Flora, Adélia has lovely memories of a wonderful time that they spent together at Portugal, with Maria José Vilar. She was her admirer and remembers and loves to hear she singing "Nem Quero Pensar", by the master Joaquim Pimentel. It´s really a big loss.

We have to congratulate this kind of initiative specially in a country that does not have even Brazilian songs played frequent on the radio, imagine Portuguese! Antonio Campos was born in Ovar, Portugal and lives at Rio de Janeiro. Great singer and poet, he is also known as the "King of Desgarrada". Campos, as we called him, has many beautiful songs, and most of them Adélia sings in her presentations, and she has also recorded some. Adélia is a great fan of him and also a friend, since the beginning of her career. They knew each other at Programa dos Astros, when she started to sing when she was 17. A big friendship started then, and a great partnership in shows. They worked together at Fado, Lisboa à Noite and other places. Also they lived together in the Joaquim Pimentel´s house for many years.

This week there will be a party for him, as I said before. We had already planned to make a homage for him on the blog, so we decided to do it now. So, this week we will have just compositions by Antonio Campos. Four videos with beatiful fados and two players with another beautiful songs, in "live" presentations. The sound is not so good, but this time what we want to show is the art of Antonio Campos, and not just Adélia singing. He has many compositions, also recorded by great names of Fado, here we have just a little. We also made an album with some pictures of him and Adélia together. A beautiful and long friendship that lives despite the distance.

Dear Campos, your art is divine, songs that could be written just by a genious with a passioned heart, they are masterpieces dedicated to love. Next Sunday, March 30th, there will be a great party to homage the fadista and poet Antonio Campos. This homage is a gift from his friends. It will happen at Casa das Beiras, Rio de Janeiro, starting at 1:00om. Adélia, unfortunatelly will not be there, but in her mind and heart she will. There will be a presentation of Fado, with the singers Helia Costa, Maria Alcina, Mário Simões, Ramiro da Maia, with the musicians Victor Lopes and Kleber Matos. Also there will be the presetantion of the band Os Vilacondenses and Santos on the accordión. Special participation of the poetess Fátima Parente. Barbecue, portuguese sardines and other delicious.

Hello dear friends. One more video for you. This week the first record that Adélia made of "Lisboa e o Tempo", by Joaquim Pimentel. She has another record, more recent, from an album that she has recorded just with songs by her master. I´ll upload it latter. In this record she still has a voice of a girl. I think she didn´t realize that she had recorded so many songs about Lisbon. By the way, each video I make, I become more and more fascinated with this wonderfil city that one day I´ll know.

We also would like to wish you Happy Easter with yours, with much love and union. More than a chocolate party this is time to think about the meaning of life, doesn´t matter the relligion you have.

Hi! One more weekend, time is running fast! Here you have one more video. This time, one that I love, "Tenho Vergonha", by Joaquim Pimentel and Antonio Rodrigues. A very sad Fado , hard to sing and with a special interpretation. It´s really beautiful.

Also, we found another treasure, a gift given by Antonio Cerqueira, a friend of Adélia, written whe she was singing at the restaurant O Marceneiro, at Porto. It´s our Adélia inspiring one more time the poets. Sorry for the translation. For me all translations are betrayals, but I have to do it so you can understand the meaning.

Adélia, actress ?

The versatility of Adélia Pedrosa is really undeniable. When she was a little girl, at Praia de Pedrógão, she acted as a poor girl, like her, in a play presented there. Adélia was 8 or 9 years old. Later, in Brazil, working at "Fado", from Tony de Matos, Adélia has made many performances in shows about the regions of Portugal ("Nazaré e o Mar", "Baladas Acadêmicas" etc.), with Tony de Matos and Mário Rocha. Also, with Tony, at Rio de Janeiro, Adélia presented at the tv show , "Imagens de Além Mar", another great success. At Argentina, she has participated also in a show about Portugal regions and traditions, this time with Glória de Lourdes and Mário Rocha. Again she participated as actress and fadista, with Terezinha Alves and Sebastião Manuel, in a great success of public, the play "Portugal em Revista".

Hello my friends. I would like to thank you for all the pretty messages and phone calls that you have given to D.Maria. She is very happy and emotive with that. She even did not believe that all this affection was for her. Thank you very much.

I also write because now we have in our blog a very important company. She is always with us, she has been always with Adélia, but now specially she is in our blog, blessing this work and all of you that come here and admire and love Adélia (also the ones who don´t, of course). We place at the end of the blog, never for being less important, but to bless you all when you exit the blog, a beautiful image of N.Sra.de Fátima, with the sound of "Ave Maria" by Gounoud, played by Manuel Marques, great guitarist and teacher who has made too much for the Portuguese music and who for many times worked with Adélia, being part also in her albuns, not only as musician, but also as musical producer, what is an honor for us. Thus, with this small gesture, we want to homage this important figure of the Portuguese culture, and also the friend for whom Adélia has much affection and misses a lot. Today is the D.Maria´s birthday. She is Adélia´s mother. Congratulations! The people who knows them, also knows the immense love that they have for each other and all the battles that together they had fighted to survive and to build a worthy life and with much love. 91 years of age and she has been always by Adélia´s side , giving support and affection. And how many jokes D.Maria speaks! You can not stay serious with her! We hope that she can be with us for so many years more, healthful and amused. Many kisses, much health! We love you so much!

Hi friends! And here we are again to thank for your support. If you had already watched the video Curiosities, you know that Adélia was also model for albuns covers. We had in our files just the album of Tony de Matos, but our friend Chança sent to us the albun of Antonio Campos, another great friend of us. We are so happy to have this albun, it´s a relique. Many thanks Chança. He also sent to us the albun that Adélia recorded for RCA to help us to complete our files. Step by step, and with your help, dear friends, we will recover many other precious things. You know, after creat this blog I could confirm what I already knew, Adélia, more than fans, has got many friends, very special friends, and there is no price for that. Our friend Chança presents the show "Portugal Rádio Esporte", on Sundays, at Bandeirantes Radio AM from Rio de Janeiro, from 11:00am to 12:00am.

This week, on Tuesday 26th, will be Adélia´s mother birthday, D.Maria Jose. She will be 91! D.Maria is from Rio Corvo, Louriçal, Pombal and she is in Brazil for so many years. If anyone knows something about her family, it would be a big gift for her. Her complete name is Maria José Pereira, daughter of Manuel dos Santos Neves and Maria da Conceição Pereira. Her brother, José Maria and her sister is Augusta. One day I´ll tell her history, it´s very beautiful.

Hi. I write to share with you, one more time, some joys. It is with much pride that I divulge here the book "Beach of Pedrógão - Places, People and Memories", a magnificent work on the history of the land of Adélia, written by Antonio Inácio Nogueira. In this book, the author, in a wonderful work of research and with much affection for the land, describes the history of a diligent and humble people, with many photos, cases, interviews, at last, very well detailed. And what was our emotion when receiving the book, gentily sent to us by the author, we knew that Adélia is part of it. Many facts on the book happened with Adélia and her family. Our beloved Adélia is part of the history of a people - of her people, of her longing land! In the link "Maria of the Sea" you will see some photos and get the information to acquire one if you want. See, you will like it. Also, we woul like to congratulate our new friend Antonio Inácio Nogueira for the beautiful work and thanks for contacting us and sent the autographed book. Thank you so much.

Balance of 2007/Plans for 2008

Hi there! One more year begins and we hope it is a wonderful year for all of us! Today I felt that it needed to share with you some joys and to make the balance of the year of 2007 of our blog. Adélia´s blog was created in 24/09/2007, about 3 months. In this short time of life, we have already received more than 6,200 visits, in the pages in Portuguese and English, from 25 countries: Brazil, Portugal, Australia, Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Luxemburg, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Chile, Switzerland, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Argentina, Finlândia, United States, Singapure, India, Israel, Greece and Romênia. 33 songs at You Tube, had more than 15,500 exhibitions, and the song "É Natal" is the most played, with 2151 exhibitions in little more than 20 days. These numbers, compared with other blogs and sites of artists that have the great media on their favour and that are in their home-land are very teeny, but for me, that only created this blog as a homage and to speak of an artist that is far of her Native land, are wonderful numbers. This shows two things. The first one is that Adélia is loved by the people and that her work, her value as fadista, is recognized by the public all around the world , also in Portugal, the second thing is that, when something is made with love, it does not need much money and pyrotechnics. Moreover, with this international recognition, the world begins to see that Fado is also made out of Portugal. That there are many fadistas in the world, that hardly divulge this wonderful music in foreign lands. They deserve to be known in their own Native land. What makes the artist is the public and is for them that the artist makes its art. Therefore, thank all of you, that quiet visit us, hear Adélia at You Tube, at the blog, at the Sapo Videos, the programs of radio, in records. We also thank the friends broadcasters and journalists who have helped us a lot. To all of you our deeper thanks. For this year we will have many new features, I am with many ideas, and of course, talking about our beloved Adélia Pedrosa, we have much material to share with you. To that ones that can think that homages are made just when the artists are not more between us, we inform: Adélia Pedrosa continues singing, and singing beautufully, for our joy and enchantment.

Our Christmas

Hi my friends. I hope you like the new video "Bom Dia...Bom Dia" ("Good Morning...Good Morning"). This is an old song with many rich details. This song was given to Adélia for recording by Mr.Ferrer Trindade and, imagine that, he is singing in the corus with Joaquim Pimentel. Isn´t it great? This song is part of the record "Anda Ver Lisboa" ("Come to See Lisbon") recorded in Portugal for Valentim de Carvalho. Also, there is a legend that some soldiers, in the war times, woke up hearing Adélia singing it. Curious details.
Well, our end of the year has been really special. And to finish it with a gold key, we received our cousin José Costa, that lives in France, and her wife Lianna. This encounter was possible because of internet, since we did not knew each other. It was so emotive. It´s sad that was little time, but we hope to meet them again soon. Adélia was even inspired and wrote verses for them. Below, the verses and the photos. Dear cousins, we love you, many kisses!

We also received the visit of the great friend of Adélia, and my godmother, Terezinha Alves and her husband Jose Luis. They stayed with us during Christmas, as always for at least the last 20 years, and it was very good also. They will come back soon, for sure, my grandmothers´s birthday is close. Kisses!

A lot of visitors! I would like to thank also our dear friend Silvia Reis, that came directly from Rio de Janeiro to spend some days with us. Silvia is very important in Adélia´s life.
